由於歐盟規定最新手機充電孔統一採用Micro USB規格, 目前多數智慧型手機除iPhone以外都已經使用Micro USB充電器與充電線 . 坊間的Micro USB雖然接頭(連結器)長的都一樣, 但USB充電器大小不一, 充電線粗細長短也不一, 環肥燕瘦琳瑯滿目不知如何選購. 各廠牌的Micro USB充電器與充電線的外型差距不大, 但會因採用的材質不同不但會影響充電效率, 對於人身或行動裝置的安全性也息息相關.
以下針對Micro USB充電器與充電線選購與安全使用方式做一說明:
1. 充電器與充電線的使用風險:
錯誤使用充電器小則會把手機充壞, 重則把人電死或引起火災, 造成居家或人身安全問題.究其原因, 通常歸咎於使用劣質充電器及錯誤的充電或收納方式所導致.
A.使用劣質充電器的危害:
手機的充電電流大小是由手機控制的, 充電器只是被動提供足夠電流. 若充電器提供電流小於手機所需, 將無法充電. 但提供電流大於手機所需, 並不會將手機充壞.劣質的充電器會把手機充壞主是電壓(V)問題. USB充電標準乃由國際USB-IF協會所制定, USB標準電壓是5V+-0.25V(4.75V~5.25V).有些劣質的充電器採用劣質零件導致輸出電壓是5.25V以上, 就很容易將手機充壞, 原理就像把只能使用110V電壓的電器卻輸入220V電壓就會將電器燒毀一樣.

非原廠充電器充電iPhone時發生觸電死亡或電暈意外的新聞, 則可能是充電器或充電線偷工減料造成充電器的電容被不當電壓擊穿或充電絕緣出現問題, 產生漏電及燒毀問題.(原因詳見

C.其他安全使用USB充電器/充電線方法:
a.充電應依據製造商說明指示將插頭插入規定電壓插座中,不可插入一半或鬆脫而造成接觸不良,易造成電源線短路起火。
b. 手機充電時周遭應避免高溫及火源,以免造成電源線外被覆塑膠熔解,導致日後使用時易造成短路。
c.充電器或充電線過於老舊或有破損現象,容易造成短路、漏電或觸電等危險,應立即予以汰換更新。
d. 拔下充電線插頭時,應手握插頭取下,如僅拉電線扯下,會造成電線內部銅線斷裂,較易造成通電短路情形發生。
e. 不充電時, 應將充電器拔除,一方面可以節能, 也可避免因故障而產生短路引發意外。
f. 勿將充電線及電源延長線置於地毯下方或壓在重物下面,容易造成電線內部銅線斷裂產生半斷線,而在通電使用時易造成過負載短路危險。
g.使用延長線、電線時不可綑綁,以免通電時導致溫度升高而熔解外被覆塑膠,易造成通電中電線過熱起火。
h. 應經常檢視配線並清理插頭及插座間之灰塵,避免結合水分產生積污導電現象,致插頭之兩極產生電流,進而產生火花導致火災危險。
